Fashion blogger Garance Doré posted  tutorial on her YouTube channel on how to do a two tone nail art as done at Philip Lim. After doing crazy arty nails for the last few weeks, I decided to go for a quieter nail art. I really liked this combo. The camera made the maroon look lighter then it actually did in real life, it is actually almost as deep as the black. I would say this look would pass in even the most conservative workplace.

J'ai voulu ce weekend faire un look moins flyé que les semaines dernières et j'ai vraiment aimé ce combo. Le marron est en fait du même ton que le noir mais la caméra la rendu en plus clair. Malgré tout Je dirais que ce look passerait même dans les bureaux les plus conservateurs.

Before I begin, let me say that my hand is not ashy, once again my camera is doing it's thing. I had planned on keeping the darker combo this whole weekend but then my nails got nicked on everything they touched. So I undid the polish, filed them down and did another colour combo that I had also considered doing. Looking at the bottles next to each other, the colours didn't loo too far off. But the grey  Sally Hansen bottle turned out to be much deeper on the nail, I'd even say it looks more off black then the taupe I expected. And I had forgotten that the pearly white in the Joe Fresh bottle was actually much lighter. So I ended up with a harlequin look. Not bad but I was hoping for a more subtle contrast.

Avant de commencer, non ma main n'est pas en manque de crème hydratante, c'est encore ma caméra qui fait des siennes. Bon, je croyais bien gardé le combo précédent ce weekend mais mes ongles ce sont accrochées sur tout ce qu'elles touchaient. J'ai donc enlevé les vernis, limé mes ongles et ai fait cette combinaison que j'avais aussi pensé faire. En regardant les bouteilles l'une à côté de l'autre, je croyais avoir un contrate plus subtil. Mais le taupe dans la bouteille de Sally Hensen s'est révélé plus foncé sur mon ongle et j'avais oublié que le blanc-gris perlé dans la bouteille de Joe Fresh est plus clair en réalité. Je me suis donc retrouvée avec un look harlequin.
