Diamonds on my mind/Diamantée

Remember when I said I might do a pair of socks for my new sneakers. It's turned into an obsession now. Why? Because I want to do a pair of diamond or argyle socks. In intarsia. Yes, knitted in the round. According to most of the instructions on intarsia I've read so far, including sock making, they say you can't do it in the round unless I knitted the leg flat or just the diamond itself would have to be sewn on and I believed that until I googled and I found instructions on how to do exactly what I want to do and that's when I realised how stupid I was. Of course, if I had done Veronik Avery's Diamond short-row hat on Interweave knits' site, I may have seen the light earlier but no, I had to read the other instructions to realized that it was possible. I'll be using Regia. At first I thought of using one of their Canadian colours in the pink but then I decided I wanted to do Argyle. After hemming and hawing I decided on the Hot pink/soft green combo. I thought about the Cherry colour but in the sage words of my LYS' owner, Dat gleen eest too vimpy for dat red. So, now, on top of doing the swatch, I'll have to figure out how to do the diamond. Pictures? According to HP, the camera is on it's way so probably early next week. PS: I've also come across Eunny Jang's Fair isle socks and I loved them. But since I didn't want the socks to done in Fair Isle, I kept looking.

Vous rappelez vous lorsque je disais que peut-être que j'allais me faire une paire de chaussettes pour mes souliers sport? Ben, c'est rendu un obsession maintenant. Pourquoi? La madame a décidé de faire une paire soit avec des motifs diamantés ou style écossais. Avec la technique d'intarsia. Et oui, tricoté sans couper le fil en rond. Selon toutes mes recherches et ce que j'avais lu jusqu'à présent, c'était impossible à faire à moins de tricoter la jambe à plat ou encore fallait trouver le moyen de faire les motifs pour ensuite les coudres (comment?). Je croyais à tout ça jusqu'à j'aille chercher sur Google encore et j'ai trouvé les instructions pour ces chaussettes et j'ai réalisé à quel point je peux avoir des mèches blondes parfois. Si j'avais fait la tuque en rangs raccourcis de Veronik Avery pour Interweave, j'aurais peut-être pensé à cette méthode. Peut-être. Après beaucoup d'hésitation, je vais donc faire les chaussettes avec la laine Regia dans les couleurs fuschia et vert. J'avais aussi pensé à la couleur cerise mais selon la marchande de laine, le vert était un peut trop moumoune pour ce rouge. Alors je travaille donc sur un échantillon mais en même temps sur une façon de faire le motif. Des photos? Selon HP, la caméra est en route donc sûrement au début de la semaine prochaine. PS: j'ai aussi trouvé cette de bas au genou de Eunny Jang en Fair Isle et je les adore mais vu qu'ils étaient fait avec le méthode que je ne voulais pas utiliser, j'ai continuer à chercher.
