Je suis ici à Cornwall depuis lundi, m’empiffrant de tout ce qui me tombe par la main. Il y a à la cafétéria des petites tartelettes faites de pâte de brownie fourré à la mousse au chocolat ou de confiture auxquelles je suis accro. Cependant ce n’est pas la raison pour laquelle je suis ici. En fait je suis à Cornwall sur le cours national de recrutement pour enseigner aux nouveaux commis au traitement des dossiers comment faire leur boulot. Ceci est ma cinquième année ici, ma quatrième et probablement ma dernière comme instructrice. Je vais probablement faire mon prochain cours de carrière l’été prochaine et ça me tiendra loin de chez moi pendant deux mois.

Nous sommes dimanche aujourd’hui et j’ai fait ce que je fais d’habitude lorsque je suis ici, j’ai été faire un tour chez Winners juste pour y faire un tour et j’en suis ressortie avec une paire d’escarpins à talons hauts. Je trouve que lorsque j’y magasine, inconscimment j’achète toujours la même marque et ce fut le cas avec les souliers. J’ai été faire un tours sur le site web de la compagnie et j’y ait trouvé une autre paire d’escarpin que je voudrais acheter.

J’ai aussi avec moi la dernière parution du magasine IK et je bave sur a peu près tous les modèles à torsades mais mon préféré est celui sur la page couverture. Ce sera sûrement mon prochain projet quoique ce ne sera certainement pas en alpaca, trop chaud. Sitôt de retour à Montréal j’irai un tour sur le site de Knit picks. J’aime bien le chandail Supernova mais il faudrait que je modifie l’encolure car mon crâne fini par étirer les cols roulés. J’aime bien aussi le cardigan Sienna et si j’avais une petite fille je ferais le Little Majolica. Je vais probablement mettre la main sur une ancienne parution du magazine car j’aime bien le chandail Spencer de Annie Modesitt (je ne veux par manquer de respect mais la jupe?...)

En ce moment je me tricote un sac en avec la laine Coton Ultrasoft de Bernat (j’ai bien dit que je magasine chez Walmart ici). J’allais me faire une paire de bas mais je trouvais que le fil ressemblait un peu trop à de la ficelle donc j’ai changé le projet quoique j’ai brièvement pensé me faire des torchons à vaisselle. L’ordinateur duquel j’écris ce texte présentement m’empêche d’y télécharger les photos donc imaginez l’échantillon avec les mailles Oxford et nid d’abeille. Je pense le tricot du fond vers le haut, on verra.



I've been out here since Monday, eating like there's no tomorrow. They have these little torts made out of brownie batter filled with either chocolate mousse or jelly and topped with whipped cream that I'm addicted to. But that's not why I'm here. I'm here to teach on the National recruiting course, basically instructing new recruiting clerks how to process files. This is my fifth year in Cornwall, my fourth as an instructor but most likely my last. I'm probably going to be on a career course next year for the summer and I’ll probably far from home for about two months.

So today is Sunday and I do what I usually out here when I have nothing better to do here either shop at Walmart or Winners. This time, I've just gone to Winners to browse around and managed to come back with a pair of high heeled shoes. I find with that store that whenever I buy something I unknowingly stick with the same company as was the case with the shoes. I looked at the website and I found another pair I’d like to get my hands on.

I also have with me the new IK and I’m drooling over just about all of the patterns with the cable stitches. The one I really like is the Equinoxe yoke pullover that’s on the cover. That one will most likely be my next knit project but I won’t be making it in Alpaca, too warm. The minute I get back home I’m hitting the Knit Picks site. I also love the Supernova sweater but I would have to modify the neck line, my cranium overstretches the opening of turtlenecks. I also like the Sienna cardigan. If I had a little girl, the Little Majolica would also be on my to do list. I also think I’ll try to get my hands on a passed IK issue to get my hands on a Annie Modesitt pattern for the sideways knitted spencer (no disrespect but that skirt?...).

Right now I’m knitting a bag using Bernat cotton Ultrasoft yarn (I did say I shop at Walmart here). I was going to make a pair of socks out of them but the yarn looked too much like twine so changed the project thought I briefly considered making dishtowels. I took a picture but the computer where I’m writing from does not see the jump drive where it is stored so you’ll have to picture the sample I knit with a combination of Oxford and honeycomb patterns. I’m thinking of starting from the flat round bottom and work my way up but we’ll see.
